Hiking & Trekking in Idaho
In 1989 ROW pioneered the concept of raft-supported walking trips. A cargo raft carries all the camp gear while you hike on the trails that roughly parallel the river's course, carrying only a small daypack and accompanied by one of our expert guides. These adventure vacations are offered in May, June and September along the Snake River through Hells Canyon and in late August and September along the Middle Fork of the Salmon.

Past Client Feedback
"We spent three days fly fishing on the St. Joe and then, after an "intermission", we did the one week hiking trip down the Middle Fork with ROW. This was our third trip with you, all of them on the Middle Fork. Our first trip was in 1995! The guide team on our walking trip, Koni, Lynn and Jen, worked hard to ensure that our whole party had a good time. Our trip leader, Koni, took personal interest in each hiker's desires, goals and experiences to achieve a successful trip for everyone. We were allowed to hike independently, meeting occasionally along the way with the other group or a guide, and then enjoying our communal camp time together. While hiking down the river, we found the daily hike distance of 8 to 12 miles to be very achievable, leaving plenty of camp time, too. Thank you for your help in setting up our trip! Once again, we've made memories that we'll keep for many years due to our ROW trip."
