Cruise the Sierpe River through the largest Mangrove swamp in Central America on the lookout for dolphins, whales and sea turtles. Take a guided hike through Baru National Wildlife Refuge, home to over 800 acres of wetland, mountains and pristine beach. Trek through the Savegre Private Reserve's forest of 100-year-old cathedral-like trees to a soundtrack of birds, insects and howler monkeys, and visit the mysterious, near-perfect stone spheres of the Diquis Delta, believed to be carved by pre-Columbian Chiriqum natives.
Scan the treetops for scarlet macaws and pygmy squirrels on a zip line canopy tour, raft the class II-IV Pacuare River rapids and ride horses alongside a local rancher through protected forest.
