Conveniently located 35 miles from Durango, WTR rests in the secluded and striking Pine River Valley, just upstream from Vallecito Lake in the heart of Colorado's San Juan Mountains. The ranch is surrounded by two protected wilderness areas, which comprise Colorado's largest roadless area.
Activities
WTR features an unmatched variety of activities. Experience our progressive riding program geared to all ages and abilities. Quality time is spent with both timid beginners and avid riders, from making a first connection to riding without a bridle, from scenic all day rides to advanced cattle working - WTR's horse program offers the finest in instruction and adventure!
Not Riding? Fish in one of our stocked ponds or try guided fly-fishing on a local river, whitewater raft, water-ski, swim and soak, indulge in a massage or spa treatment, take the tour to Mesa Verde National Park, hike, explore the high-country from our scenic drive, kick your heels up at our weekly dance, learn to rope, sing by the campfire, or simply take it all in from the deck of your cabin.
Accommodations
Classy and comfortable individual cabins surround the main lodge, which houses the dining room, watering hole, game room, office, and guest laundry. Log cabins are appointed with attention to detail; all feature private, full bathrooms, large decks, in-room coffee, fridges, fireplaces, and more.
Children's Program
Our award winning youth program for "never-bored" kids is spearheaded by creative, specially-trained counselors. Custom programs for 3-5, 6-10, 11-2, and 13-17 year-olds are geared toward adventure, active-learning, and absolute fun!
