Lone Mountain Ranch - A Montana Family Guest Ranch
Lone Mountain Ranch is located in beautiful Big Sky, Montana, just south of Bozeman and north of Yellowstone National Park. The Ranch is an oasis of history inspired by and deeply ingrained with a colorful past that is all Montanan. One of the first working guest ranches in the Big Sky area, there is a rich heritage of western hospitality and warmth.
Activities
With its own unique style of guest ranching, Lone Mountain Ranch offers a rich variety of professionally led outdoor activities focusing on the Discovery of Nature. Horseback rides are intentionally limited to a few riders, so you can learn about this spectacular part of southwest Montana from your knowledgeable wrangler. In addition to rides around the Ranch and morning and afternoon rides, the ranch also offers all-day rides exploring areas in and around Yellowstone National Park. In addition to excellent riding, the ranch also offers naturalist and fly fishing programs.
Accommodations
Unique is one word that might best describe the guest cabins. Whether the cabins were built 70 years ago or in the last decade, all are attractive, well-maintained and comfortable and include daily housekeeping service. The lodgepole pine furnishings, patchwork quilts and western accessories reflect the historical atmosphere of the Ranch, built in 1926. Each cabin has a private bath, wood burning stove or fireplace and electric heat. The smaller cabins have one bedroom/living area and bath. The larger cabins have a separate living room and 2-3 bedrooms. The dining experience is best described as a Northern Rockies adaptation of classical techniques. Menus may include venison, lamb, bison, salmon, Montana raised natural beef, tantalizing vegetarian selections, duck, pasta specials and fresh fish flown in daily.
Children's Program
The Youth Adventures program operates from mid-June until Labor Day for children ages 4-18. The objective of the Youth Program is for young people to have fun while learning to appreciate nature and develop more self-confidence through planned activities and a wide variety of recreation.

Past Customer Feedback
"Having never been to a ranch before, we had no idea what to expect, but I don't think in our wildest imagination, we could have predicted the class, kindness and efficiency that we experienced at Lone Mountain Ranch. The facilities are second to none, the location breathtaking and the array of activities endless. However, what really sticks out in our mind are the people we met, both staff and guests."
